The Heroes’ Oath (Symphonic Poem for the Heroes) was written on October of 2018 for the purpose of the Gwangju Cultural Foundation International Composition Competition.
“The Heroes’ Oath” is here to honour all these romantic people who believed in freedom, who fight for their dreams, who believed in superior ideas and finally sacrificed their lives for liberty… Because we should not forget…. We can’t forget…
Their act is a statement of life, a statement of authenticity, a statement of life… A bright example for young people, for all of us.
Never stop trying for the best… Never stop believing in human… A great Greek poet Seferis awarded with Nobel prize in 1963 said at his speech “The answer to all questions is human”… Find the human kindness inside you…
This moment that I write these words wars starting, people losing their lives, acts of discrimination, violence and enforcement happen to different places of the world… Our message should be noisy in order not to have other victims…
Music, art, culture always create different paths and evolves human nature…
Let the music unite people differences…
It’s a matter of civilization, of evolution… It’s a matter of life…
People of Korea must be proud for the heroes of May 18th Movement… We should never forget those who sacrificed their lives in order to be free… We should never forget their greatness… And this musical composition “The Heroes’ Oath” will always keep their spirit alive…
